Last week, Roku unveiled its latest mini-LED TV, its most expensive to date (see Plus and Select series on Roku’s website). This move signals Roku’s ambition to compete with higher-tier models in the market. Initial reviews suggest that Roku may succeed, as the TV delivers a great experience in its price range.

But I’m not reviewing the television, nor do I have plans to do so in the near future. What I’m really excited about is the new remote that comes with it.

The new version of the Roku Voice Pro remote has almost all the features we could have wished for in the first version.

  • USB-C port
  • 50% more rechargeable battery life (up to 3 months with a single charge)
  • Quick Launch button
  • Motion activated backlit buttons
  • Live TV button

On top of the features already in the first edition such as voice activation, remote finder etc., they also removed that weird headphone jack that no one ever asked for (sorry if you did, I had never even tried it).

It’s compatible with all current Roku devices and is priced at $30 which is the same price as the previous version.

Check out those options if you want to purchase it:

Surprisingly, Roku’s website is still listing the first version at the same price, don’t make the mistake of buying the old one!
